Miley Cyrus, who disappointed many of her teen fans by deleting her Twitter account last week, today posted a home rap video on her Facebook page by way of explanation.

The Hannah Montana actress, whose father has since begged her to rejoin the popular microblogging website via his own homepage, rapped: 'Yeah the rumours are true, I deleted my Twitter. Can you believe it, I got to two million.

In one of her last 'tweets', Miley Cyrus wrote that Liam Hemsworth, her co-star in upcoming film The Last Song, wanted her to delete her Twitter account 'with good reason.' In the video, Miley Cyrus referred to the post, rapping: 'No it wasn't because my friend told me to. Y'all know very well what you say, I don't do.

"The reasons are simple. I started tweeting about pimples. I stalled living for moments and started living for people." "The Disney favourite went on to blame the media for reporting on her status updates."

On Thursday, the singer's father, Billy Ray Cyrus, urged his daughter to return to the site via his own Twitter homepage. The country music star wrote that she 'can't leave everyone now,' adding: 'We r countin on u.'
